The Lelarge family has been growing grapes since the late 1700s in the premier cru village of Vrigny in the Montagne de Reims. In the 1930s Raymond Lelarge started making and bottling Champagnes under his own label. Today, the 7th and 8th generation (Dominique, Dominique, Clémence, and Valentin) work together, farming a little over 8 hectares and making a wide range of biodynamic champagnes and coteaux champenois.
Social Justice and Environmental Restoration Statement
It is important for us to respect what nature handed us, but also the people who work, surround us, and drink our champagnes. We are committed to making the wine world a respectful, fair industry, at the winery but also with our sales partners (50% of our importers/sales team are women-owned businesses who also hire and support marginalized groups). We assure a safe environment for our workers with our farming practices (organic since 2010, biodynamic since 2017), we provide a fair living wage to all our workers and often provide housing for people who need it. We are certified organic and biodynamic to assure transparency. Dominique also offers classes on organic farming and we are part of the organic champagne grower association.
We are a small winery but we are very grateful to have been able to start donating to a non-profit last year. We have partnered with the International Federation for Human Rights and are donating 5 euros a bottle (of 3 of our cuvées) back.
